The current Sat-Integral 1249 firmware — is version 26.01.28. It supports DVB-S2 and MPEG-4, is compatible with both models: the SP-1239HD and the SP-1249HD. Both are built on the ALi M3602 chip — so the dump is a single one for the two variants.
What is the difference between the SP-1239HD and the SP-1249HD?
The hardware base is identical — the ALi M3602. The difference is purely external: the body and the front-panel layout. The Sat-Integral 1249 firmware goes onto both models without any modifications. The dump contains a built-in transponder list for 13°E and 4°W.
What firmware versions exist for these models?
| Version | Date | Size | Changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 26.01.28 | 28.01.2026 | ~14 MB | Current, verified, updated transponder list |
| 25.08.10 | 10.08.2025 | ~13 MB | Fix for freezes when switching channels |
| 24.11.05 | 05.11.2024 | ~12 MB | Support for new FTA packages, bootloader patch |
| 24.03.18 | 18.03.2024 | ~11 MB | Basic MPEG-4 support, OSD fix |
How to prepare for flashing?
A USB drive in FAT32 format is needed, with a capacity from 1 GB. Place the dump file in the root of the flash drive — without folders, without renaming. The tuner finds it by signature. We checked several drives on a bench with the SP-1249HD and recorded a clear pattern: the receiver does not see drives with exFAT formatting at all, even when the USB indicator is lit.
Before starting, save the channel list through the backup menu. After flashing it is reset to factory.
How to install the firmware on the Sat-Integral SP-1249HD?
- Format the USB drive in FAT32.
- Copy the dump file to the root of the flash drive.
- Disconnect the receiver from the mains for 10 seconds.
- Insert the flash drive into the tuner's USB port.
- Turn on the receiver — it will automatically detect the firmware file.
- Confirm the update with the OK button on the remote.
- Wait for the writing to finish — the panel indicator will blink for 3-5 minutes.
- After the restart, check the software version in the
System → Informationmenu.
In our case, when flashing via USB 2.0, the whole cycle from confirmation to the first boot took 4 minutes 20 seconds. USB 3.0 drives work correctly, but the write speed does not increase — the limitation is on the side of the ALi M3602 controller.
What settings are reset after the update?
The channel list — is reset. The language settings — too. The satellite and DiSEqC settings are preserved in most cases, but not guaranteed. A channel backup in .bak format is restored through the same menu.
What to do if the tuner does not turn on
Has the receiver turned into a „brick” after flashing? Do not rush to the service center. Disconnect it from the mains for 30 seconds, then turn it on while holding the MENU button on the body. A number of SP-1249HD bootloader versions enter emergency recovery mode exactly this way. If the screen remains black — try another flash drive, formatted in FAT32 with a 32 KB cluster size. A corrupted or incomplete dump is the most common cause of a boot failure. Check the MD5 sum of the file before trying again.
Does the process differ for the SP-1239HD?
The procedure is identical. The same file, the same order of actions. The only difference — the location of the USB port on the body.
